Only several years ago, advanced security systems weren’t available to the general public. Those that were available weren’t on a price tag that any home owner can just buy on a whim. In fact, not even if they badly needed a good home security system against burglars.
The fast and steady advancement in technology has not only created several options for homeowners to secure their homes, but has also drastically lowered the price range of home security systems. Their novelty has worn off so now people can easily invest in some of the best home security system available. Unfortunately, there are a lot of home owners who have yet to know about some of the most advanced systems available. Most home owners are still stuck at the notion that closed circuit televisions (CCTV) are the ideal security systems to install in the home. They couldn’t be more wrong on this regard for several reasons.
First, a CCTV system is indeed effective, if it is installed in a commercial building. Hired guards take watch over the live feed of these videos for their entire shifts, which make it a cost-effective way of watching over several parts of the building. In a home setting however, CCTV fails badly because of the fact that nobody is designated to keep watch over the videos as they are recording. Family members go out of the house one by one, whether to go to work or school. This is when cunning burglars attempt a break-in, even with the knowledge of the CCTV systems installed. They are aware that there is no alert system for this so they can take their time rummaging through cabinets. These modern day burglars are also aware that wearing a ski mask can effectively make it impossible for the video recording to provide proper identification.
Another reason why CCTVs aren’t the best home security system to install is because compared to some of the modern security systems in the market; it’s a pain to install. In fact, it’s not advisable for a regular home owner to install since professionals are needed for that very purpose. In contrast, wireless security cameras only have to be mounted or even placed on top of a coffee table and then have it connect to the home’s internet connection. Convenience as well as capability should go hand in hand when thinking about getting a good security system for the household.
